Reno, NV -   THE BÜTTCRACKER is back at Brüka as we celebrate the holidays with this original parody of the classic Nutcracker and twist it into a cross between Peter Pan and Dancing With The Stars.  A “Celebrity” Panel of “Experts” votes for the winners.  opening Friday, December 5 through Sunday, December 21, 2025.  What began as a parody of The Nutcracker has evolved into a regional cult classic, offering a unique underbelly to the original ballet each year it is performed. Not for ballet purists or those with tight slippers.  Recommended:  12 years and up.  Get your tickets early!

THE STORY:  For your holiday titillations, an all-original BÜTTCRACKER mashes the classic story of Peter Pan with the television hit Dancing with the Stars and literally walks the plank in this strange and hilarious new theme!   Brükaisms abound in this 13th rendition, which is more of a Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride than a “tighten your toe shoes to the music” kind of experience.

Reno, NV.  TAKE FIVE:  Making Art in Reno - Wild Card Season  Reno has seen a great deal of remarkable creation from an abundance of amazing artists over the last 33 years, since Brüka Theatre began creating innovative theater. To celebrate the Biggest Little City’s transformation to an internationally recognized arts destination, Brüka invited over 20 amazing artists from northern Nevada to show in just five entertaining minutes how they make their magic.  The talented artists and community members who accepted Brüka’s TAKE FIVE challenge are passionate about their work.  You will be enlightened.  You will be entertained. Each night is a different group of artists.

From Black Hole Piercing Co. owner Angela Watson to local advocacy group Cod Pink Reno, propmaster Riley McKinney’s “How to Create Props From Scratch” to cinematographer Andrew Arguello’s “How to Think Like a Cinematographer (Even If You’re Not One)” and burlesque dancer Titanium Tina’s “The Art of Burlesque” to local microbiologist Rachael Anderson’s “The Art of Microbiology”; poets, painters, actors, musicians, dancers and improv comics will share their secrets in two different and extraordinary evenings.

Opening 10/10/25 Brüka Theatre proudly announces the Reno premiere of Club Inferno, the electrifying, award-winning glam-rock musical created by Reno native Kell Kittell (book & lyrics) with music by Peter Fogel (music & lyrics). Originally a San Francisco cult sensation, Club Inferno blazes back with a reimagined production that fuses outrageous humor, high-voltage rock anthems, and dazzling theatrical spectacle.

Nightclub diva Dante is electrocuted mid-performance and wakes up in the most fabulous nightclub of all—Hell! Guided by the ancient poet Virgil, she journeys through an all-female underworld: nine levels, each ruled by icons from Cleopatra to Judy Garland. Along the way, she confronts the sins of fame, desire, and excess, all to an addictive glam-rock score. Filled with scandalous humor, dazzling costumes, and literally electrifying performances, the show turns Dante’s Divine Comedy into a cabaret of sin and redemption. By the end, our Dante discovers that in Hell, the only way out is to own exactly who you are—heels and all.
